CIT is a Government Aided Autonomous Institution started in the year 1956, by late Shri. V. Rangaswamy Naidu. The Institution has grown from strength to strength and has become a center for academic and Research excellence in various disciplines of Engineering and Technology. The institute is affiliated to Anna University and situated in a campus area of about 25 hectares on the Chennai Cochin (NH 47) highway. CIT is about 7 kilometers from Coimbatore Railway Junction and 3 Kilometers from Coimbatore Airport.
